Our choir program for Children and Youth is divided into four, six- to eight-week projects per year. Parents and kids commit to a limited number of rehearsals that culminate in performances at JUC and elsewhere, for Front Range UU choir projects and interfaith events. Projects are reflective of the UU principles and sources, and provide an opportunity for children to explore UU values and beliefs through music. Children’s Choir

Kindergarten – third grade

Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 6:30 to 7:10 p.m. • Priestley Room

Director: Sarah Billerbeck (720-855-8584)

In weekly practices, the Children’s choir works on beginning musicianship and singing skills through singing, movement, games, Orff instruments, and music theory activities. The Children’s Choir performs in one or two services per project and sometimes travels to sing at other UU churches or interfaith events.

Radiance Choir

Fourth-eighth grade

Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. • Priestley Room

Director: Sarah Billerbeck (720-855-8584)

The Radiance choir sings for Sunday services, further develops skills in ear training and music reading, uses tone chimes and Orff instruments for skill development, and has sung independently, with the Children’s Choir, with the JUC Ringers, and with the JUC Choir.
